Alex found her calling in event planning early on. With a fabulous hostess as a mom, she grew up surrounded by dinner parties, gameday tailgates, holiday celebrations, and, of course, the most incredible birthday bashes, so it’s no wonder she developed her passion for all things events by age eight.
She turned this passion into a career in 2008 as an events intern at the American Film Institute's SILVERDOCS Film Festival. Here she worked with sponsors and press alike to coordinate sponsorships, press junkets, VIP after parties & celebrity guest arrangements. Her experience at AFI confirmed what everyone already knew: Alex and event planning went together like cake and champagne.
Throughout her time as an undergraduate at the University of Maryland, she interned in the events department at a variety of organizations, including Kimball Stroud & Associates, Lionsgate Films, Paramount Pictures, and the University of Maryland Alumni Association, before landing her dream position at Charlotte Jarrett Events.
She joined Charlotte Jarrett Events in February 2012 as its wedding and event planning intern. In her year and half at CJE, Alex helped to coordinate over twelve weddings and events, all the while learning the priceless tips and tricks of the industry. In May 2013, Alex launched Alexandra Nesterak Event Design + Coordination to spread her vision of style, beauty and awe to events throughout the DMV.
Outside of her events, Alex’s loves include celebrity gossip, soy lattes, vanilla candles, vodka tonics, the color pink and consignment shopping. She has a borderline concerning obsession with nail polish, Instagram, Netflix binge-watching, and her bracelet collection. She currently resides in Washington, DC in the girliest bachelorette pad ever.
